Musicom : The Musical DataBase
Version 1.00
by
Michael Nelson
Released 03-14-1992
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
There is a Door called 'Rate The Music' which no matter how hard
I looked I could not find a version that was runable on anything
except PCBoard v12 and it just refusing to run. So I decided I
wanted something like that for my own use, and that is how
Musicom : The Musical DataBase came to be.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Packing List -
Musicom.exe Main Program and the rest of that stuff
Musicom.cnf Setup is described below
Musicom.doc That which you are reading now silly!
File_id.diz Description File for ZipLab on PCB 14.5a
- Musicom will create upon the first time run the following: -
Musicom.lst The data file that stores all the albums
that have been reviewed.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- History -
Musicom:
Version 1.00 - Initial Release
Sat. 03-14-92
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- The Config file is set up as follows: -
INTERRUPT <- Interrupt/Bios Handler
Connections! BBS <- Name of BBS
Michael <- SysOp's First Name
Nelson <- SysOp's Last Name
00000 <- Registration Number (00000 if Not Registered
100 <- Security Level of SysOp Access
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- The Batch file should resemble this -
Echo off
cd \pcb\doors\Musicom
Musicom Musicom.cnf c:\pcb (LOCAL)
cd \pcb
board
This program was written using prokit34 and general sticks to the
methods that other ProKit Doors use. The LOCAL is used when
executing Musicom from the Command line to see what it looks like and
how it works. BTW, don't include the LOCAL when actually running
the door from within PCB. I don't mean to sound like I think you're
an idiot but I have had calls about that one.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- What will registration get me? -
For the low, low, low price of $10 you can register Musicom
and get the following:
1. The removal of that annoying pause when exiting the door.
2. The removal of the annoying Unregistered Message.
4. One year free updates to all the newest versions of Musicom and
first choice of any new EMPIRE DoorWare products in the making.
5. The satisfaction of knowing that I can now sleep at night because
I can make my Car Insurance payments on time.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The latest version of Musicom is always available via
The Byte Me! BBS and the SysOp can probably be able to answer any
questions you might have if you need to know the answers right then.
The program is in my opinion pretty much self explanatory but if you
have any questions, comments, critisms or just want to say "HI!"
I can be contacted one of four ways:
1 - Call The Byte Me! BBS
2 - Leave a message addressed to me via any BBS echoing GeniusNet
3 - Write me
4 - Call Me Voice
I hope you enjoy this Door as much as I have writing and running it!
